What is the Capital Metro Independent Investigations Team?
The Capital Metro Independent Investigations Team is comprised of detectives from the cities of Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater and Yelm police departments. This team has been assembled by agreement between those agencies for the purpose of providing independent investigations into police officer-involved critical incidents.
The team is activated when an incident occurs in one of the member cities. The agency whose officer was involved in the incident steps out of the investigative team in order to allow for an independent investigation. |
